Volunteers to staff and/or genealogy room. It is open on the 2nd Saturday of each month from to 4 p.m.
The musem is in need of plastic sheet protectors, sturdy shelving, file cabinets, boxes of pens or Post-its, a case of paper, box of file folders, or roll of stamps, ink cartridges for our printer. Picture frames of all sizes, large poster frames, manequins or dress forms. If you think you may have something we might could use never be afraid to ask, we might be able to recycle it for our use!
The Museum is also in need of some typing done such as indexing, typing of obituaries for our cemetery databases.
Always looking for anything pertaining to McConnell. Such as photos (including people photos), postcards, books of churches, schools, other small area towns, History books of Stephenson County and other Illinois counties, obituaries and family histories/genealogies, Cemetery records. Remember our goal is to preserve history so if you have something you want preserved please donate to the museum.
We need bakers and workers in summer or such when we have our lunch stands, strawberry social etc. If you would like to be put on our list please let us know.
